Saudi Finance Company and AdalFi Sign MOU to Explore Cash-Flow Credit Scoring for Consumer Finance in Saudi Arabia

Proof of Concept will explore the use of transactional data, accessed through regulated open banking channels, to support more informed and efficient credit assessment for eligible consumer finance applicants.
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia and SINGAPORE, 21 September 2026 — Saudi Finance Company (SFC), a Saudi finance company licensed and supervised by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), and AdalFi, a digital lending infrastructure company providing cash-flow credit scoring solutions for consumer and SME lending, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to conduct a Proof of Concept (PoC) exploring the use of cash-flow credit scoring in consumer finance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Under the proposed PoC, bank transaction data for participating applicants would be accessed through a SAMA-licensed open banking provider, subject to applicable regulatory requirements and customer consent. AdalFi's technology is designed to analyse transactional cash-flow patterns and generate credit-risk insights in real time, providing an additional data-driven input to support Saudi Finance Company's credit assessment process.
The initiative is intended to evaluate whether cash-flow insights can help SFC assess eligible applicants more efficiently, including customers with limited traditional credit history, while maintaining SFC's credit policies, risk controls and responsible-finance standards. Any financing decision will remain subject to Saudi Finance Company's applicable eligibility criteria, credit policies and regulatory requirements.
As part of the PoC, AdalFi's models are expected to be calibrated to the characteristics of SFC's applicant base and evaluated against agreed performance and risk parameters. The parties will also implement the PoC in accordance with applicable Saudi data-protection, cybersecurity and open banking requirements.
The collaboration aligns with the Kingdom's broader Financial Sector Development Program and fintech ambitions under Saudi Vision 2030, including the development of digital financial services, innovation and broader access to financial services.
